Lucerne, Switzerland
There are some places that make you remember what it feels like to really breathe. For me, Switzerland is one of those places. It’s crisp, it’s open, it’s beautiful. In Lucerne, you are surrounded by glorious mountains, but you never feel landlocked. The sky above is expansive and feels even more so because it is reflected in the clear lake water. The mood is tranquil, even though you are surrounded by other tourists.
Friday seems like an appropriate day to be writing about bridges and breathing. Sometimes Friday is that transition point out of a busy week and into a relaxing weekend, that point where you remember to breathe and look out at the world around you.
How long has it been since you lifted your head from that pile of papers on your desk or whatever other concerns you were juggling? If it’s been a while, then breathe deep–it’s Friday! Here are some more photos of Lucerne to get your weekend started.
Lovely photos! Lucerne is one of my favourite places in the world! Have a great weekend too 🙂
Thanks. Lucerne is lovely. We followed our day there with a hike up Mr. Rigi, and it was absolute perfection. Great trip! Enjoy your weekend too.
Gorgeous pictures!

Thank you!
Lucerne looks lovely. It looks quite like Thun and Interlaken which I’ve visited a couple of times. It’s a beautiful country, isn’t it?
Oh, we absolutely loved it! I’ve only been to Lucerne and the Mt. Rigi area, so I’d love to check out Thun and Interlaken– any special travel suggestions for those areas?
one of my favourite city in Switzerland ..
It’s an easy city to love.
Gorgeous – I just adore Switzerland though I’ve never been to Lucerne. Someday… The air like you say just feels fresh and crisp. We are overdue a trip back.
My husband missed our trip, so we’re due a trip back too, so he doesn’t miss out. Where have you been?
We spent a week in Interlaken a few years ago with our son but have also been to Zurich and Bern in the past – loved every part of every place!
beautiful place.
Yes it is! Thanks for visiting my blog page.
My pleasure. 😊
Gorgeous photos, and I might be alone in saying this, but Switzerland always looks too perfectly pretty to be real to me.
It is a little unnaturally green and picturesque! As we hiked around the lakes, we kept commenting on how quiet it was–there were tourists, but not too many; boats, but not too many. Almost as if things were regulated to be “just right”!
